The Rev. Boutros Zaour has been the pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Damascus since 1997. Located in the heart of the Old City, this active congregation has welcomed Iraqi refugees as well as fellow Syrians who have been displaced from other parts of the country. A native of Aleppo, Boutros has also served as pastor In Qamishli, in the far northeast corner of the country. He is a graduate of the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon and is active on a number of councils in the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon and currently serves as the Moderator of the Synod with its 44 congregations. Rev. Boutros is married to Wafa Nader Zaour and they have three grown children: Christian (Seychelles), Zikar (Houston) and Miray (Qatar).
