Essential Bible E100
Do you want to increase your knowledge of the Bible? Dr. Jim Miller will continue to lead an overview of key Biblical texts that will provide a strong scriptural foundation for class members. The group will also consider the theology, geography, and history associated with the passages. Photographs and visuals of the Holy Land will be included in the lesson. This group will continue to tie to the sermon series.
Unapologetic Book Study
Join Rev. Ryan Moore in exploring Francis Spufford's Unapologetic, "a wonderfully pugnacious defense of Christianity. Refuting critics such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the "new atheist" crowd, Spufford, a former atheist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, argues that Christianity is recognizable, drawing on the deep and deeply ordinary vocabulary of human feeling, satisfying those who believe in it by offering a ruthlessly realistic account of the grown-up dignity of Christian experience."
Making Art to the Glory of God
We will explore all kinds of art-making: drawing, painting, collage, jewelry-making and more. As we do, we’ll reflect on God the Creator and the beauty of his world. If you have an artistic gift you’d like to share, please call Rev. Elaine Cervini and let her know! Participants are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks and pencils to the first classes. More information about additional supplies and media will be forthcoming. Please note that this class does not start until January 22!
Seeker's Bible Study
The Seeker's class is walking through an in-depth study of the book of Ephesians (verse by verse study). Wambugu Gachungi will lead the group in exploring: a) The position we have in Christ-what we need to KNOW and b) What we need to DO as result of knowing our position in Christ. Come enjoy praying together, studying scripture and engaging in lively questions and discussions.
The first round of WNDT adult classes for this semester will be meet for 8 weeks (Jan 8 - Feb 26). Ash Wednesday is March 5 and then we embark on a Lenten series for WNDT for the weeks leading up to Easter.
