logocrossHOLDING CROSS STORIES

I live by faith in the Son
of God, who loved me
and gave his life for me.
-Galatians 2:20

"Every day I carry my cross to work with me. I take it out of my bag and lay it on my desk. Not a day passes without one of my students asking about it, picking it up, and holding gently in their hand. From the questions I am asked, I am able to share my faith with them. This cross opens the door for me that might otherwise have remained closed." -Kerry Wiley

"John & I bought Joycee aka Flipper her own holding cross. She was having a hard going to sleep one night so I asked her if she wanted her cross, she said no. I went back later to check on her and she was fast asleep holding her cross. Now every night when she goes to she is holding her cross. Thank you so very much God, Edward & Mickey." -Carol Jolly

"My mother-in-law has recently been diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer's, and her living arrangements needed to be altered in order that she could live in a safe environment. This season of life is not easy for her, nor for my wife and her brother, nor for any of us who love and care for her. After some amount of exploration, discussion and confrontation, a good place was found, and an agreement reached that this would be the best place for her...and she could also take her beloved, and somewhat rotund dog. Virginia is a woman of deep and rock solid faith, but is knowingly facing a difficult journey. The day before we were to pick her up to move her, I got a cross from Edward Jednacz, which was my "housewarming gift" for her. After we got her settled, I gave it to her and explained what it was and why she should have it. It was very moving to see the hands of an 83 year old believer hold and rub the smooth contours of the cross, and see what a touch point that it for her. The cross is never out of her reach, nor for those who visit. It is the cross to which we all cling, and this holding cross issues an invitation to all who come close." -Bruce Wiley

"Sophie (Dunaway) visits me often and I find her holding the 'prayer' cross and praying for her family and pets almost every time she visits; on her own and in private. To me this is a testament to her family and their faith and the way they are revealing God's awesome love and power." -Ellen Fuller
