What is Cursillo?
Cursillo - Cursillo de Christiandad- is a short course in Christianity. It is a three day spiritual retreat during which the main activity is learning about God's love for us and Christ's will for us. It is designed to provide a framework for those, who, wherever the place on their journey of faith, will be renewed and refreshed along the way. Cursillo intends for participants to return home with a heightened sense of what it means to live as a disciple in service to Jesus Christ. We believe that those who attend the weekends will take on a more active role in their family, church, and community, especially in the sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Cursillo is a wonderful expression of God's love, with worship, singing, learning, laughter, surprises, and new friendships - all reflected in God's people. It is also God's gift to you or someone you care about!
"See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God" (1 John 3:1 NRSV)
Who Attends?
Cursillo is intended for members of the Presbyterian Church, PCUSA, who seek to continue to grow in their faith. The staff includes Presbyterian Clergy and lay persons who have previous attended a weekend and have been trained to serve in this leadership role. Many from First Church serve both as clergy and as staff as well as lots of others from churches throughout the Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery and beyond.
