Funding for the Fourth Annual Helping Hand Golf Tournament comes from sponsorships. Individuals, Sunday School classes, companies, or other groups may contribute at one of the following levels, or at a level of their choice:
• Tournament Sponsorship ($2,500 or more)
• Hole Sponsorship ($1,000, $500, or $250 per hole)
• Gift in honor or memory of an individual or group (any amount)
Sponsors at all levels will be recognized as a Sponsor at the awards ceremony and on all hole sponsor signs. The Sponsor fee will also include the greens fee, cart, range balls, a gift bag with a sleeve of 3 golf balls and tees, and a buffet luncheon for 6 players (Tournament Sponsorship level), 4 players ($1000 level), 2 players ($500 level) or 1 player ($250 level).
A tee off advantage, 150 yards, on a par 5 hole may be purchased for $20.00/team.
There will be a putting contest ($5 per putt). Grab Bag prizes will awarded to those that make a putt. Participants in the putting contest may stay for the awards luncheon for $15.00.
Funding also comes from registration fees of those who participate in the tournament. Half of the registration fee ($50) covers the cost of the tournament and luncheon, and the other half is a tax-deductible donation to Helping Hand Ministry.

The Session of First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, organized the Helping Hand Ministry in 1983 at the urging of Dr. William Wiseman (Pastor, 1963-1984). This new ministry was designed to continue FPC’s tradition of reaching out to those who need a Helping Hand.
For almost 30 years this ministry has helped disadvantaged individuals and families over a temporary crisis by assisting in the payment of their utility bills, rent or prescriptions, and with the distribution of food from the pantry.
In 2010 alone the Helping Hand Ministry spent over $335,000 to: keep 554 families from being evicted; provide prescriptions for 43 people; help 2,535 families keep from losing their utility services (including water, electrical service, natural gas and propane); and provide over 548 families with food for approximately 34,524 meals. This year, because of the continuing economic downturn and high unemployment, more and more families need help.
As an outreach to the Tulsa community, First Presbyterian Church provides the overhead costs for Helping Hand Ministry: space in the Bernsen Community Life Center, utilities (electricity, water, and heating) & bookkeeping assistance.
Helping Hand has no paid staff — every dollar donated is disbursed in aid of the ministry’s clients.
