First Church Stewardship Ministry

Christian Stewardship is the next step after we confess, “I believe.” It is more than giving money to the church, it is about being faithful disciples, caring for and managing all that God has given us. Stewardship is a gift in response to God’s grace and kindness—a gift that includes time, talent and resources. At First Church, we believe it is so important to practice the obedience of regular giving.

Pledging Your Time

We encourage you to worship, to pray regularly, to study God’s word, and serve others. Sunday morning worship is important, and you will also find many other worship opportunities as well. Our Christian education is strong with a wide variety of study opportunities for all age levels.

Pledging Your Talents

Talents among our members are many and varied but all are needed at First Church. There aremany opportunities to serve both here and in the community. Throughout the web site, you will find descriptions of these opportunities for your consideration. Please don’t hesitate to contact someone on staff or an Elder to let them know of your talent interest or where you would like to serve.

Pledging Your Resources

Every member of the congregation is asked to make a financial commitment to the church. Childrenare also encouraged to make a pledge. This is part of our Family Ministries. Patterns are established early that can be instrumental in Christian nurture. Each year members are asked to make an annual pledge and statements are sent out on a quarterly basis indicating the status of your pledge. If possible please provide your e-mail address to the Business Office if you wish to receive the statements electronically.
