Late night arrival at Ben Gurion Airport (after Yom Kippur)
Transfer to Tel Aviv for overnight
Overnight: Tel Aviv
Friday, October 10, 2008
Start the day in ancient Jaffa to hear about Jonah and the Whale, Simon the Tanner, etc.
Drive along the Mediterranean Shores to Caesarea: Roman Theatre and Crusader Fortress
Pause at the spot on the Carmel Mountain where Elijah smote the false prophets.
Ascend the Golan Heights for a view of the region.
Arrive at a Kibbutz in the Galilee
Overnight: A Kibbutz on the Shores of the Sea of Galilee
Saturday, October 11 (Sabbath)
Early morning cruise on the Sea of Galilee
View the 2000 year-old fishing boat
Pause at the Mount of Beatitudes to pray and reflect
Then to Tabgha where He performed the Miracle of the Loaves and the Fishes
Visit Capernaum, St Peter’s home town where Jesus lived for three years.
Onwards to Chorazin and to other sites around the Sea of Galilee
Enjoy a Jeep Ride to Susita and the region in the foothills of the Golan
Overnight: A Kibbutz on the Shores of the Sea of Galilee
Sunday, October 12 (B, D)
Start the day ascending to Zfat, city of mystical Judaism (Kabbalah).
Explore the narrow alleyways of Zfat lined with ancient synagogues and artists’ galleries.
North to the Biblical town of Hatzor, before
Visiting a source of the Jordan River at Tel Dan
Continue to Caesari of Philippi where Peter declares Jesus to be the Messiah
View Kalaat Nimrod – the mysterious fortress linked to the ancient cult of the Assassins.
Explore Tiberias and the promenade along the Sea of Galilee
Overnight: A Kibbutz on the Shores of the Sea of Galilee
Monday, October 13
Baptismal site of Yardenit.
Visit to Nazareth Village – made to look like Nazareth did in His time.
Then to Beit She’an, an ancient Roman city, leveled by an earthquake
View the Mount of Temptations and Jericho
Ascend to Jerusalem, pausing to pray as thankfulness pilgrims have across the ages
Overnight: Jerusalem

David's City Excavations with Warren's Water Shaft Tunnel,
Western Wall,
Western Wall Tunnel Guided Tour
Overnight: Jerusalem
Wednesday, October 15
Mount of Olives
Descend to Dominus Flevit Church
Gethsemane, Church of All Nations
Enter Old City through Lion's (St. Stephen's) Gate
Visit Saint Anne's Church, site of the Pool of Bethesda,
Walk the Via Dolorosa, Sisters of Zion Ecce Homo Monostery,
Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Church of the Resurrection),
Shrine of the Book, First Century Jerusalem Model, Israel Museum
Overnight: Jerusalem
Thursday, October 16
Descend to the wilderness to the Dead Sea
Masada
Qumran, of Dead Sea Scroll fame
Ein Gedi, an oasis in the desert
Overnight: Jerusalem
Friday October 17 (It is possible that we may do something completely different)
Valley of Ella below Tel Azeka where David fought Goliath
Explore the bell caves at Beit Guvrin
Tel Lachish and Emmaus (time permitting)
Return to Jerusalem to see Jerusalem prepare for Shabbat
Overnight: Jerusalem
Saturday October 19 (Sabbath)
Church of Saint Peter in Galicantu,
Zion Gate, Cardo, Wohl Museum with Palatial Mansion
Burnt House,
Southern Wall Excavations, Virtual reality film
Garden Tomb
Head to Ben Gurion Airport and latenight departure
